Mac Mackriell

Having written a collection of short children’s stories, I needed them brought to life through illustrations. As a retired builder I was unfamiliar with the workings of the publishing industry. I approached a number of publishers, only to be disappointed by their obvious lack of enthusiasm, coupled with the bad attempts made by their illustrators to represent the stories pictorially. Fortunately, someone gave me Rob’s details, and, after a few informal enquiries he agreed to “give it a try”. Now I have eleven beautifully illustrated stories, just as I had envisaged. I can’t thank him enough for his imaginative genius.

After writing my first children’s book Grandad Pigeon I searched unsuccessfully for the right illustrator until Rob was recommended to me . Within a day of receiving the script he was in touch with ideas he had of what sort of illustrations and character concepts would fit in . His character concepts were exactly as I had in my mind and his illustrations brought to life my story. They were engaging and attractive to children and I could not have wished for anything better.

Working with Rob was a pleasure and he was in almost daily contact with updates of ideas and illustrations ( this was all done with me in Australia and Rob in the UK )  

When Rob had completed the illustrations there were several little things I had overlooked and Rob was happy to amend it immediately.

Prior to becoming involved with Rob the illustrations and the right illustrator was a big stress for me but Rob took all that stress away.  

I highly recommend him and look forward to working with him again on my next project.

Rob Page is such a talented and creative artist.  He illustrated my latest children’s book, Grandma’s Leprechaun, and I couldn’t be  more pleased!  He created such whimsical, magical characters and brought the feeling of my story into every illustration. He was always responsive to my requests and provided all the illustrations so quickly! Definitely a pleasure to work with!
